The Journal of Law, Equity & Social Transformation—an initiative of the Pakistan Civil Liberties Organization (PCLO)—serves as a critical platform for the articulation and advancement of indigenous legal scholarship rooted in the socio-political and constitutional realities of Pakistan. This journal is premised on the conviction that legal discourse, to be transformative and emancipatory, must engage meaningfully with the lived experiences, normative traditions, and structural complexities of the society from which it emerges.
In an era where transnational legal paradigms frequently dominate academic and policy debates, this journal seeks to reorient the focus towards Pakistan’s unique legal, social, and economic contexts. It invites rigorous, interdisciplinary inquiry into questions of justice, equity, governance, and reform—foregrounding local jurisprudential developments, legislative trends, and policy challenges. Our editorial vision is shaped by a commitment to fostering scholarship that is both critically reflexive and normatively grounded in principles of social justice, constitutionalism, and rights-based development.
We welcome contributions that interrogate the intersections of law with political economy, gender, technology, environmental justice, and marginalisation, particularly where these analyses are informed by empirical research, comparative perspectives, and doctrinal innovation.
